The Rendez-Vous story

A Danforth table that helped shape a neighbourhood.

Chef Banchi Kinde opened Rendez‑Vous in 2001, bringing Ethiopian and Eritrean cooking, hospitality and coffee tradition to Danforth East. The restaurant became a gathering place for neighbours, celebrations and first tastes of Habesha food.

Come for slow-cooked wot, sizzling tibs and colourful vegetable platters served over injera. Stay for the music, the art, the aroma of freshly roasted coffee and the feeling that everyone belongs at the table.

01Traditional flavour. Familiar recipes, layered spices and plenty to share.
02Live atmosphere. A warm room with Ethiopian and Eritrean rhythms.
03Fresh variety. Vegetarian, vegan, lamb, poultry and beef options.
Beyond dinner

Guest notes

Food worth talking about.

Review themes from guests across delivery and dining platforms.

“A friend and I visited Rendez Vous for dinner! We ordered the Solo meat & Solo veggie combos to share. This was more than enough food for the two of us and we took a bit of left overs home. Service was great as our server was very kind and polite. The atmosphere was very nice and authentic. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for folks wanting to try great Habesha food!”
